The Dry Age

In the 3198th year in the Age of Peace there fell upon Rienland a vile drought. This desiccation lasted 100 years. Water was more important than gold. This lush liquid cost many lives, as the leaders of the land taxed and tolled the use of the remaining natural water sources. Some mages procured magical means of making water. Bands of outlaws and other vile leaders taxed and ran black market water deals. This harsh time ended abruptly and the whole of Rienland flourished and was great again, and those who were rich with water were once again poor and criminal.
